Our Executive Coaching Bootcamp helped Tia Castagno re-discover leadership coaching and recoup her investment in a couple of months!

We love catching up with our students and it’s always a pleasure to hear about the great strides they’ve made in just a few short months after completing our bootcamp. Here’s our recent interview with Tia Castagno, a founder and executive coach who we had a pleasure of working with in one of our bootcamps.

‘’Regardless of whether you are at a place that you can sign up clients straight away or not, the knowledge, tools, and confidence you’ll get are 100% worth it. You’ll have peace of mind that you’ll never not know what to do in a situation as every stone of executive coaching has been turned here!’’

1. Tell us what you were doing professionally before you joined our programme and what were you hoping to get out of it?

Over the past 2 years I’ve transitioned from a corporate job to running my business full time. As part of it, I’ve been running training and mentoring programmes, as well as offering 1:1 coaching.

However, I found I was struggling with coaching, I didn’t seem to enjoy it as much as my other avenues and I didn’t see the financial benefit I was hoping for.

Then, due to a small window in my calendar and a new opportunity in my career, I decided to elevate myself properly as an executive coach in the hope to eliminate the frustrations I’ve had in the past.

2. And did you manage to solve the issues you’ve had with 1:1 coaching?

Yes! I chose to study for the ICF certification, as it’s the globally recognised standard for executive coaching. The amount of information and study materials in the student portal were almost overwhelming – but everything was well-organised, sign posted and could be easily found with hours upon hours of materials to sift through. These included advanced coaching techniques, step-by-step guides, exercises and even marketing and business advice.

3. How did the bootcamp and our programme help you with your success?

The main thing for me was to reframe my own limiting beliefs about coaching. I now see it as a rewarding part of my career, and I have confidently worked it into my offering! I am focusing only on coaching executives, and I have the pleasure of working primarily with remarkable women in their respective industries. On top of that, I’ve started running coaching engagements for executive teams, rather than sticking to being a facilitator.

The bootcamp has helped me refine my leadership offering all around through group coaching engagements and 1:1 coaching for senior leaders specifically. I have a much more niche offering, tailored to executives, and this has reflected in my income too – I have recouped my return on investment and more, within a couple of months of the bootcamp, in addition to my usual expenses and salary!

4. The group coaching engagements sound exciting! Could you tell us more about them?

Sure! I’ve taken on executive clients at a very high level and I’m finding it so rewarding going through the process in a way that is already bringing results for them. It makes me happy and the whole process is that much more enjoyable.

Taking on group coaching engagements for executive teams has helped me break out of the consulting and facilitating mode. Since then, I have extended my contract with a client from last year and I’m able to support them in a way I hadn’t worked before. I’ve been crafting every session and workshop, bringing in new exercises, experimenting with new approaches – and I’ve felt more confident each time. More importantly, I have been gaining the trust of the group and making them feel supported.

5. You have a busy schedule as an entrepreneur and coach…how did you manage to fit your study commitments around everything you do already?

I was attracted to this programme as it helped me get to my goals as quickly as possible. I completed my coach training in just 5 months, and I was able to start making my money back straight after the bootcamp. Plus, the additional training was easy to access anytime, and I had the freedom to manage it around my diary.

6. What would you say to others thinking about doing this programme?

Regardless of whether you are at a place that you can sign up clients straight away or not, the knowledge, tools, and confidence you’ll get are 100% worth it. You’ll have peace of mind that you’ll never not know what to do in a situation as every stone of executive coaching has been turned here!
