While lesser known in Europe, BCC is well recognised in the Americas, and it’s certainly worth getting the extra credential if you’re looking to tap into that market.

This certification is awarded by The Centre for Credentialing and Education, an institution which recognises the highest coaching competencies, among others.

Of course, there is no expectation to complete the BCC qualification, but for those coaches who are looking to add yet another heavy-weight certification to their resumé, it’s worth considering. This option is included when you sign up to study with us because the training we provide is approved and recognised by the BCC. All you need to do is complete the BCC recommended reading list and pass their credentialing exam (application / examination fees payable through the BCC website).

  1. What does the BCC say about you as a coach?

The BCC is an excellent indicator of your expertise as a coach, due to the extensive training, testing and assessments you must undergo to achieve it. It really sets you apart from others as a highly qualified coach who will get results.

Having the Board Certified Coach Certification demonstrates that you have:

  • met both educational and training requirements

  • passed a psychometrically sound coach-specific examination

  • have obtained professional peer references

  • have gained experience in the field of coaching

  • show a commitment to continuing your education and professional development

  • stand accountable to a code of ethics

These qualities and qualifications are of great importance to many employers due to the high standards they reflect into the professional world.

2. Board Certified Coach Training requirements

The BCC is a distinguished qualification in the world of coaching. All Board Certified Coach training providers must be accredited by the CCE, as we are at The Executive Coaching Bootcamp.

The main requirement that differs from the ICF accreditation is that you must have completed a bachelor's degree to complete this certification. However, do not be discouraged if you don’t have one – the ICF accreditation on its own is a globally recognised, highly credible coach training standard, surpassing the popularity of the BCC.

If you have completed a bachelor’s degree, however, then you have the option to apply for the BCC. It’s included in our programme, highlighting its versatility, depth of knowledge and variety of options available to you. Please check BCC requirements to ensure you are eligible.

3. The BCC examination

The Board Certified Coaching Examination (BCCE) comes as the final part of the certification process in which you must complete an exam that tests your competencies across several different areas.

This exam is put together by industry experts to reflect all the requirements of an executive coach. It extensively tests each candidate’s coaching knowledge in four main competency areas:

  • Ethics and Regulatory Guidelines

  • Coaching Knowledge and Applications

  • Assessment

  • Practice Management

These are key in becoming successful as a coach, and, with the high-level training provided in our ICF accredited course plus the reading list from the BCC, you are set for success.

4. Designed for coaching success

The BCC is perfectly tailored to help you gain success as an ICF certified coach. It brings new levels to your coaching expertise and helps you become an even more impactful coach with the support of our team.

It is an excellent marketing tool for emphasising your credibility as a coach, as the BCC is a highly distinguished and sought-after coaching qualification, particularly in the US. The extra credential can help to differentiate yourself from other coaches and diversify your pool of potential clients.

If you are looking to become an executive coach, then look no further. Sign up for our ICF Coach Training course and get your BCC Certification for free!
